THE AGITATORS

Black Narcissus, Narcissus, and finally The Agitators, all the same band, different genres of music.

Formed circa 1973/1974, Black Narcissus were unashamedly a typically British Glam covers band. T. Rex, Slade, David Bowie, The Glitter Band et al, this was definitely where we were at. Hardly surprising, given our ages of around 13 years.

The shortening of the band name to Narcissus also saw us take a natural progressive path into the world of heavy rock. Still a covers band, but this time the likes of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Free were the order of the day. Then, with little or no warning whatsoever, it happened. Things would never be the same again!

The Agitators arrived, spittin' 'n' snarlin', riding the 1976 anarchic express train that was punk rock. Punk was without doubt the making of this young and impressionable bass player/vocalist. That snot-ridden attitude is still alive 'n' kickin' in every sinew of my now somewhat aging body, and I know for a fact that it will still be there on the day that I die.
